EVOLUTION OF MACHINE STOCK
AIM group's investment strategy (7% of turnover on average per year)
allows "latest generation" machines to be purchased: these are more
competitive, use less energy and respect the latest environmental and safety standards.
MATERIAL CONSUMPTION ECONOMIES THANKS TO 3D DEVELOPMENT
3D Processing software has made designs far simpler, and simultaneously reduced sheet metal thickness and powder consumption.
NOISE POLLUTION
Noise levels are measured regularly, and are below levels specified by regulations.
New buildings are subject to specific investments aiming to reduce noise pollution caused by our processes.
EMISSIONS OF C02 AND VOCs
The levels of CO2 produced by combustion equipment are checked regularly. They are below levels required by regulations.
The combustion characteristics of the equipment used and the fact that it is fuelled by natural gas mean that the effects on air pollution are minor.
VOC emissions into the atmosphere are very low: 20 times lower than required levels. This is due to procedures put in place
in the painting process: surfaces are treated without the use of chlorinated solvents and powder paints used are free from solvents and lead.
We have moved from machines which emitted VOCs into the atmosphere to the use of vacuum apparatus,
the waste products from which are processed by specialised companies.
REPROCESSING OF WASTE
All waste is sorted and reprocessed by specialised companies.
The waste treatment processes prioritise reclaiming wherever possible: metals, wood, cardboard, paper, paint powder
(study in progress into the possibility of reusing in the manufacture of glue), rags, fluorescent tubes, aerosols,
computer ink cartridges and batteries.
AIM Group also protects soil and surface water by using retention tanks under chemicals,
and also by desludging/degreasing parking areas, paths and roadways.
ENVIRONMENTAL STRATEGY
AIM Group is working towards environmental certification by developing solar energy products. A study is being
carried out into the installation of solar water heaters in factories, to heat water not only for personal hygiene,
but also for use in processes (surface treatment tanks).
In overall electrical energy saving terms, substantial economies have been achieved by
installing groups of capacitors.
